FSSAI notifies the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restriction on Sales) First Amendment Regulations, 2019 w.e.f 25.06.2019; ‘Diacetyl’ can no longer be used as a flavouring substance in oils and fats

This is a quick update to let you know that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (“FSSAI”) has notified the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restriction on sales) First Amendment Regulations, 2019, effective 25^th June, 2019.

In effect, now, ‘diacetyl’ can no longer be used as a flavouring substance in oils and fats.
