Retail pharmacies must stock generic drugs in separate shelf/rack, says CDSCO

With a view to promote the availability of generic medicines, Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (“CDSCO”) has instructed Drug Controllers of States and Union Territories to direct all outlets, licensed to sell drugs by retail, to provide a separate shelf / rack exclusively for stocking of generic medicines.

The generic medicines should be distinctly visible to the consumers and must be separated from other medicines.
