Investors in Goa can now avail a Joint Site Inspection to accelerate the process of obtaining Occupancy Certificate and Construction Permit | Ease of Doing Business

In a recent notification dated 5th September, 2018, Goa Government has undertaken an initiative of conducting Joint Site Inspection for Ease of Doing Business with a view to ensure better investment climate in the State.

To simplify the inspection procedure for availing construction permit, license and occupancy certificate, the Government has adopted the concept of joint inspection procedure. A single, joint site inspection will be conducted by various authorities who are concerned with the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (“Goa IDC”). Several authorities such as Public Works Department (water supply, sewerage, roads and highways), Electricity Department, Health Department, Fire Department, Forest Department, Directorate of Factories and Boilers will conduct a joint inspection of the site.

Once the applicant applies for a construction license or an occupancy certificate, he will be notified of a Joint Inspection date, after which the necessary permissions will be granted. It has also been mentioned that the Joint Site Inspection will be conducted on first and third Wednesdayof every month (in case of notified holiday on above mentioned days, joint inspection will be carried out on next working day).
