In reference to the recent enforcement of the Food Safety and Standards (Fortification of Foods) Regulations, 2018 (“Regulation”), the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (“FSSAI”) has issued an order stating that as per the Regulations, every package of fortified food shall carry a +F logo on the label and, therefore, all Food Business Operators (“FBO”s) engaged in manufacturing/processing and labelling/repacking of fortified food products shall endorse their fortified food products in their existing license/registration latest by 31st December, 2018.
Further, to simplify the process of +F logo registration on the website of Food Fortification Resource Centre (FFRC) an endorsement procedure has been integrated with the existing Food Licensing and Registration System (FLRS) wherein, an FBO can endorse their fortified products and obtain a CDR file of + F logo by following the process mentioned below:
- Log in to the FLRS using your credentials;
- Fill up the details and submit a self-compliance certificate;
- On filling of details and submission of self-compliance certificate, an endorsement on the existing license will be generated online immediately along with an CDR file of the +F logo.
- It is advisable that the FBO’s to furnish their product pack shot for featuring on the FFRC website thereafter through email (fortification@fssai.gov.in)
