Delhi Pollution Control Committee bans all civil engineering construction and demolition activities with immediate effect

The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (“DPCC”) through a direction dated 09th November, 2017 has directed a ban on all civil engineering construction and demolition activities in Delhi till further orders, with a view to combat the growing menace of air pollution in Delhi especially in respect of high Particulate Matter (“PM”) 10 and PM 2.5 levels.  All the construction related agencies in Delhi, Private & Government Builders and general public have been accordingly directed to stop all civil engineering construction and demolition activities with immediate effect.

The DPCC has directed all land owning agencies, construction agencies, local bodies including itself (DPCC) (“parties”) for taking necessary steps to comply with the directions regarding the stoppage of all civil engineering construction and demolition activities and measures taken to control the dust emissions. All parties have to submit daily action taken report (“ATR”) to DPCC on email id msdpcc@nic.in. In case of non-compliance with the direction necessary action will be initiated against all defaulters.
