Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued an Order dated 27th September, 2019 to extend the due date for filing Income Tax Returns (ITR) as well as various reports of audit pertaining to Assessment Year 2019-20 from 30th September, 2019 to 31st day of October, 2019 in respect of such categories of taxpayers who were required to file their return by 30th September, 2019.
However, the taxpayers shall remain liable to pay interest under section 234A of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
