West Bengal Labour Department informs that applicants will now be able to download registration certificate under the West Bengal Shops and Establishments Act, 1963 (“Act”) on real time basis

In a Notification dated 31st December, 2019, the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal (“Department”) has informed that applicants will now be able to download registration certificate under the West Bengal Shops and Establishments Act, 1963 (“Act”) on real time basis, subject to payments being made successfully and application being complete in all respects.

Background:

In the Notification dated 11th June, 2015 the Governor had notified the services along with the stipulated time limit for rendering the services, the Designated Officers responsible for providing the services.

Now, with the present Notification, the stipulated time limit for providing the registration and renewal, changes of Certificates of Registration of shops and establishments under the Act and West Bengal Shops and Establishments Rules, 1964 is being changed.

The stipulated time limit was previously 30 days which has now been changed to “real time basis” for applications which are complete in all respect.
