Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued an Order dated 8th October, 2018 to further extend the due date for filing Income Tax Returns (ITR) as well as various reports of audit pertaining to Assessment Year 2018-19 from 15th October, 2018 to 31st October, 2018 in respect of such categories of taxpayers who were required to file their return by 30th September, 2018.
However, the taxpayers shall remain liable to pay interest under section 234A of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
