Telecommunications Department does away with physical process of submitting applications for obtaining Unified License from 1.12.2018 ; introduces online means to do so

With a view to ensuring Ease of Doing Business, the Department of Telecommunications (“DoT”), in an Instruction dated 15th November, 2018, has announced the launch of a web – based portal ‘SARAL Sanchar’ Simplified Application for Registration and Licenses).

SARAL Sanchar (has been introduced for issuing various types of Licenses and Registration certificates for Other Service Providers (“OSP”). As per the Instruction, all applications for obtaining Unified licenses both through SARAL Sanchar Portal and physical applications  i.e., offline and online mode of application will be accepted till 30th November, 2018. Going forward from 1st December, 2018, all Applicants must obtain license through the SARAL Sanchar Portal.

Key Highlights:

  1. Visit saralsanchar.gov.in,
  2. As an Applicant, register yourself in the portal with your login credentials which will be sent to you via email;
  3. Make sure that all the documents to be uploaded are in PDF format;
  4. Payment of processing fee will be done separately through the Bharat Kosh Portal, details of which will be shared within the SARAL Sanchar Portal;
