The Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, Tamil Nadu “Department” has issued an abstract to a notification combining various laws into one- The Tamil Nadu Combined Development and Building Rules,2019 (”Combined Rules”) on 4th February,2019.
With the need to increase efficiency and sustainability of utilization of resource while promoting ease of doing business, the Department has revised and re-issued various existing Building Rules under various Acts for corporations, Municipalities, Town Panchayats and Village panchayats and Development Rules/ Regulations issued under the Tamil Nadu Town & Country Planning Act, 1971 into (”Combined Rules”).
Provisions of the National Building Code, 2016 and the Model Building Bye-Laws, 2016 have also been incorporated.
The combined Rules also cover the provisions of barrier free environment for differently abled, elderly, children, rain Water Harvesting, re-cycling of Grey Water, Solar Energy Capture, Provision of Closed circuit Televisions and Regulations of Swimming Pools.
