Tamil Nadu Government proposes to increase fees for amending and transferring license or for obtaining a duplicate of it under the Tamil Nadu Factories Rules, 1950; comments invited till 10th August, 2019

The Labour and Employment Department, Tamil Nadu has, in a Notification dated 26th June, 2019, issued draft amendments to the Tamil Nadu Factories Rules, 1950 (“Rules”), inviting objections and suggestions from the public in respect of the Draft Amendments within 45 days from the date of publication of this Notification in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette i.e. by 10th August, 2019.

The comments and suggestions have to be addressed in duplicate, to the Principal Secretary to Government, Labour and Employment Department, Secretariat, Fort St. George, Chennai-600 009, through the Director of Industrial Safety and Health, 47/1- Thiru. Vi. Ka. Industrial Estate, Guindy, Chennai – 600 032.

Amendments proposed:

The Draft Amendments propose to increase the fees payable in respect of amendment, transfer or grant of duplicate license under the Rules as follows:

(3) The fee for the amendment of a licence shall be fifty rupees plus the amount, if any, by which the fee that would have been payable if the licence had originally been issued in the amended form exceeds the fee originally paid for the licence.

The fee for amending the license under the Rules has been proposed to be increased from fifty rupees to two hundred rupees.

(2) Such application for transfer shall be made to the Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories concerned and accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees for each such application.

The fee for transfer of  license under the Rules has been proposed to be increased from fifty rupees to two hundred rupees.

 

Rule 10 Loss of license

 

Where a licence granted under these rules is lost or accidentally destroyed, a duplicate may be granted by the Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories having jurisdiction over the area on payment of a fee of fifty rupees.
