Punjab Government declares 7th December, 2018 as a close day; applies only to employees of all shops and establishments enrolled as voters in the State of Rajasthan

The Government of Punjab (“Government”) has, in a press release dated 5th December, 2018 on its official website, declared 7th December, 2018 (Friday) as a paid holiday for Rajasthan voters, employed in Shops and Commercial Establishments situated in adjoining areas with Rajasthan in Punjab, so that they can exercise their franchise in Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha polls.

The Government has clarified that such paid holiday on the day of the polls for the Rajasthani voters working in the State of Punjab, shall be considered as a closed day in addition to the weekly off falling between 9th December, 2018 and 15th December, 2018, on account of the General Elections to Rajasthan State Legislative Assembly.
