Only oldest DIN can be retained; DINs obtained later have to be surrendered

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (“MCA”) has, through the ‘News and Important Updates’ segment on its website, informed that any individual, who is in possession of Duplicate/Multiple Director Identification Numbers (“DINs”), can only retain the oldest DIN and has to surrender the ones obtained later.

The MCA, in this regard, has clarified that a DIN, once associated, will not be eligible to be surrendered.
