MoEF proposes to set parameters regarding Effluent Standards for Automobile Standalone Service Station or Service Stations attached to a Petrol Pump including Bus Depots or Workshop

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has recently proposed amendments in the Environment (Protection) Rules,1986 by adding the industry of Automobile Standalone Service Station or Service Station attached to a Petrol Pump including Bus Depots or Workshop in Schedule I and has mentioned the parameters and effluent standards to be maintained by the industry.

The limit of 5 mg/l of dissolved phosphates (as P) (mg/l) and 5 mg/l of Zinc for Service stations, Bus Depots and Workshops with metal pre-treatment facilities will also apply.
