Ministry of Labour & Employment issues the Code on Wages (Central) Rules, 2019 which is a preliminary draft to the Code on Wages, 2019; invites comments / suggestions by 01.12.2019

The Ministry of Labour & Employment, has issued the Code on Wages (Central) Rules, 2019 (“Draft Rules”), which is a Preliminary Draft of the Code on Wages, 2019 (“Code”).

The Draft Rules proposes to repeal the following Central Rules (indicated in red) under the enactments repealed by the Code:

  1. Payment of Wages Act, 1936 read with Payment of Wages (Procedure) Rules, 1937
  2. Minimum Wages Act, 1948 read with Minimum Wages (Central) Rules 1950
  3. Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 read with Payment of Bonus Rules, 1965
  4. Equal Remuneration Act, 1976 read with Equal Remuneration Rules, 1976

Inputs / Comments / Suggestions are invited on the said Draft Rules by December 1, 2019 and the same may be addressed to Rajiv Ranjan, Deputy Director (rajiv.ranja76@gov.in) and Bikash Kumar Malick, Assistant Director, Ministry of Labour & Employment (malick.bikash@gov.in).
