MCA designates Special Courts under the Companies Act, 2013 in the States of Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh

Gaining power from Section 435(1) of the Companies Act, 2013 (“Act”), the Central Government with the concurrence of the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court has, designated few special courts for providing speedy trial of offences which are punishable with imprisonment over 2 years under the Act. The same was reported by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in a notification dated September 05, 2018.

The following are the courts designated for this purpose:

  1. Court of District and Sessions Judge at Kohima for the State of Nagaland
  2. Court of District and Sessions Judge at Aizawl for the State of Mizoram
  3. West Session Division, Yupia for the State of Arunachal Pradesh
