Maharashtra Transport Commissioner allows re-registration of 15 years old diesel vehicles in certain areas
In a move to re-register 15 years old diesel vehicles in the cities of Maharashtra, the Maharashtra Transport Commissioner (“State Commissioner”) has issued an inter-departmental letter.
It is informed that NOC for re-registration of 15 years old diesel vehicles can be issued in the cities of Maharashtra excluding certain areas (mentioned below) falling within the Municipal Corporations. The selection of areas in Maharashtra is done basis the density of dispersed air and vehicular traffic in a particular area.
- Mira-Bhayandar – Navi Mumbai
- Parbhani City
Earlier, the Delhi Transport Department had issued a letter on 21st November, 2016 informing the State Commissioner to upload the data of such areas on the website of the Transport Department of Maharashtra where the dispersion of air is higher and vehicular density is least. In line with updating the specified areas on the State website, the State Commissioner has issued the current inter-departmental letter.
