Madhya Pradesh Government proposes to exempt shops and establishments from the requirement to renew registration ; comments invited till 8th March, 2019

In a recent proposal rolled out by the Madhya Pradesh Government on 22nd February, 2019, amendments have been proposed to the Madhya Pradesh Shops and Establishment Rules, 1959 which when notified will no longer require renewal of the registration.

The registration will remain valid till the date of closure of the shop / establishment.

The Registration Fee has been proposed to be revised as follows:

  • All establishments having up to three (3) employees – Rs. 200/-
  • All establishments having more than three (3) employees – Rs. 250/-

However, all the employers who have obtained registration before 15th February, 2014 will compulsorily obtain registration after the amendments of these rules.

Comments and suggestions are invited till the 8th of March, 2019, which can be directed to the Principal Secretary of Labour Department of Madhya Pradesh, Vallabh Bhavan, Bhopal.
