Kerala PCB instructs e-good producers to submit an action plan for channelising and routing of e-waste

In a notice dated 26th July, 2017, the Kerala State Pollution Control Board (“Board”) has directed all major producers of electronic equipment, operating in the state of Kerala, to furnish a detailed action plan, approved by the CPCB for the channelization or routing of e-waste with respect to products sold through markets in Kerala.

The Board aims to ensure that all e-good producers operating in the state have implemented mechanisms for handling and channelization of e-waste, as required by the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016. In pursuance of the same, all e-good producers are required to submit the following documents to the Board at the earliest:

(i)            Action plan devised by the organisation

(ii)           A copy of the authorization from the CPCB
