The Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (“HPSPCB”) has proposed extension of validity period for consent for Red, Orange and Green categories in line with the directions of Central Government.

Please note that this is not a final order, this proposed validity is subject to ratification by the HPSPCB.
- Red Category Industry-
- For Large and Medium Industries the change proposed is from 2 financial years (currently) to 5 years of validity.
- For Small Scale industries the change proposed is from 3 financial years to 5
- Orange Category Industry-
- For Large and Medium Industries the change proposed is from 3 financial years(currently) to 10 years of validity.
- For Small Scale industries the change proposed is from 5 financial years (currently) to 10 years.
- Green Category Industry-
- For Large and Medium Industries the change proposed is from 8 financial years(currently) to 15 years of validity.
- For Small Scale industries the change proposed is from 10 financial years (currently) to 15 years.
However, units can apply for a lesser period for consent.
Note: In order to understand if this Update is for Consent to Establish or Operate we contacted the Department , however we were given conflicting answers and thus we are filing an RTI to clarify.
