EPFO clarifies on the functioning of the newly launched Unified Portal for transfer claims

In a Circular dated 21st July, 2017, the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (“EPFO”) has clarified the functioning of the Unified Portal Interface for transfer claims.

The EPFO had recently launched the new facility of the Member and Employer Interface under Unified Portal on 27th May 2017. This new facility has replaced the Online Transfer Claim Portal (OTCP) which was earlier in place.

Key Highlights of the Circular

  1. Members can opt to submit their transfer requests online using Online Services and the Employers have to digitally approve the transfer requests submitted by the members in the Employer interface Online Services.
  1. Employers can download the Transfer Claim PDF, get the same signed by the member and after attesting the same send to the concerned EPFO Field Office for processing.

3.Field Offices can use the functionality to download the Transfer Claims PDF’s under Field Office Interface and coordinate with employers/members to attest the same before processing.

4.The PDF download functionality shall be available for period of one month from the date of issue of this order and employer should ensure that all the pendency with regards to the in process claims under erstwhile OTCP are cleared.

  1. An important functionality has been added to help the Employers and Field offices in the following manner to verify the member details based on UAN / Member ID under the Unified Portal;

 

  • Employers can utilise the verification functionality to;

(i) Verify details of new joiners before completing the New Employee Registration process.

(ii) Verify previous employment details of members based on UAN / Member ID

(iii) Verify KYC details of members based on UAN / Member ID.

  • The Field Offices can utilise the verification functionality to;

(i)  Attend to Member grievances relating to UAN/Member ID.

(ii)  Verify previous employment details of members based on UAN / Member ID.

(iii)  Verify KYC details of members based on UAN / Member ID.
