The Department of Excise and Taxation, Government of Punjab (“Department”) has issued a public notice stating that it has levied tax at the rate of Rs. 200 per month under Punjab State Development Tax Act, 2018 (“Act”).
The tax is levied on those persons whose income is taxable under Income Tax Act.
The process of filing returns under the Act had commenced from 1st April 2018. The Department is in the process of preparing an online portal for this purpose.
