Delhi PCC directs Health Care Establishments to dispose Spent Fixer (Hypo) Solution generated from X-Ray films as per Hazardous Waste Management Rules, 2016

The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (“DPCC”) in a Circular dated August 10, 2018, has directed all the Health Care Establishments to ensure compliance with the below mentioned laws while undertaking the following activities:

  1. Dispose Hazardous and Other Waste as per the provisions of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
  2. For utilization of Spent Fixer (Hypo) Solution generated from Photographic/ X-ray films, follow the provisions laid down under Standard Operating Procedure and Checklist of Minimal Requisite Facilities.
