The Central Pollution Control Board (“CPCB”) has recently on 4th December, 2018 informed that they have started inspection to verify documents and activities for implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility.
It has been observed by the CPCB that many of the Producers/ Manufacturers are not maintaining records related to Reduction in the use of Hazardous Substances (“RoHS”) compliance for which they had submitted self- declarations to CPCB when they were seeking for EPR authorization.
CPCB has clearly advised and informed that it is mandatory to maintain technical documents relating to RoHS compliance, otherwise CPCB will suspend/cancel EPR Authorization of such Producers/Manufacturers.
