CDSCO extends deadline for implementation of provision deactivating uploading of challan(s) on SUGAM / Medical Devices portal to 28th February, 2019; Mandates payment of fee and submission of challan through Bharatkosh only

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (“CDSCO”) has, in an Office Memorandum (“OM”) dated 15th February, 2019 informed that on request by applicants, it has extended the deadline for the implementation of the provision mandating deactivation of uploading of challan(s) on SUGAM / Medical Devices portal and for the fee to be paid through Bharatkosh to 28th February, 2019.

Background

While making applications to CDSCO, the fee is paid online through Bharatkosh or offline at Bank of Baroda. In case of offline payment challan has to be uploaded on SUGAM portal along with the application. The Government of India recently issued direction mandating fees to be paid through Bharatkosh only.

In furtherance to the direction, the CDSCO, in another OM dated 9th January, 2019 announced that from 15th February, 2019the provision of uploading challan on SUGAM portal would be disabled and the fee must be paid through Bharatkosh only. The CDSCO has now extended the deadline for the implementation of this provision.
