CBIC now allows labelling and packing etc to fulfil statutory compliance requirement in all Customs Bonded Warehouse

Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued Circular No.03/2019-Customs dated 31st January, 2019 to modify Circular No. 38/2018-Customs dated 18th October, 2018 to the extent, to allow the trade and industry to undertake certain operations such as Labelling/packing requirements etc. to fulfil a statutory obligation under legislations pertaining to legal metrology, FSSAI, DGFT, State Excise laws etc. in all Customs Bonded Warehouse without the requirement of taking permission under Section 65 of the Customs Act,1962.
