Bihar Urban Development and Housing Department introduces enhancements on the e-Municipality portal to enhance the Ease of Doing Business
In a recent notification dated October 24, 2017, the Urban Development and Housing Department, Government of Bihar with an aim to enhance the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and to ensure compliance of recommendations related to Trade license under the Business Reforms Action Plan 2017 (“BRAP- 17”) has :-
- reduced the number of documents required for obtaining trade license to only two namely:
(a) Photo lD-proof
(b) Lease deed/ Legal occupancy
- a fully functional Trade license module for applying for a new Trade license, renewal or transfer of trade license or change in name of Business has been made available at e-Municipality portal of the Government of Bihar .
The above mentioned documents are being standardized. The Government has also mandated that the applications for the licenses will be accepted in online manner only and there is no need of submission of any hard copy at any stage and there is no need for any physical submission and verification of documents. Additionally, the Government also has plans to charge applicable fee only through the online portal.
- The department has instructed the urban local bodies issuing the license to ensure that the approval certificate of the license (digitally signed or manually signed and scanned) is uploaded on the portal so that the system can allow users to download the final signed approval certificate from the online portal.
